What to do when encountering a traffic accident?

-Keep calm and wait until the police arrive

Take photos of the accident scene, maintain the integrity of the scene as much as possible, look for witnesses, exchange information such as driver’s licence, insurance form, phone number, and then wait for the police to arrive.

-If the damage is under $2,000 CAD, you are required to self-report

If there are no personnel injuries and the damage sustained is less than $2,000, you are required to file a report at a Collision Reporting Centre.

-Look for a company to assist you with repairs

Contact a trusted towing company to tow your vehicle to a repair facility or mechanic, where you can obtain an estimate and have your vehicle repaired

-Evaluate the damage and provide evidence

Bring your ID, insurance policy, and police report to Point Grey Physio and see our professional doctors, to ensure timely care of your injuries and proper submission of post-accident rehab treatment applications.

-Claim reimbursement from your insurance company

Contact your insurance company, provide the appropriate information, and your insurance company will reimburse you depending on the circumstances. The clinic will also provide related legal support. If necessary, please contact us in a timely manner for a consultation.
